You know what you are wearing, who you're
going with, all the parties to attend and you have extra money for
souvenirs. But what about once you are at the show? Amazingly enough, that
is the part that is the least planned out. Here are some helpful tips and
reminders from us, (and the fans) to make your experience truly
one-in-a-million.
1.
Banners - Remember watching DWT live or WTG and seeing signs that said
Madonna Rules! or something like that? Didn't you wish you had thought of
that? A simple banner makes the biggest statement and is the easiest way
to show your love. Even more clever is to personalize it. Michelle Basart
and I made a banner for the Drowned World Tour in Oakland that said,
"Seattle and Portland like to boogie woogie" with full
"Music" decorations on it. When it was spotted outside the show,
we got interviewed by a local paper for coming so far! So, if you are
coming from Australia to France, for example, you could say proudly on
your banner, "Australia has got you under their skin, Madonna!"
Soon everyone will know how you feel!
2. Flyers,
business cards, and contact books - No matter how much we can plan ahead
of time online, there will still be Madonna fans at the show who have no
access to a computer. Have handy -business cards for contact info, an
address book, and any flyers if you have a business or club to promote. A
good idea is to buy a small box of pens from the office store as well so
you'll always have a pen on you to write numbers down!
3.
Cameras - While we don't promote breaking any laws, there are some venues
that will even allow you bringing in a disposable camera or non-digital
35mm. Calling ahead to the venue can get you the official word. What's
also great about a disposable is getting pictures of fans just before the
show. These special meet-ups ahead of time can be even better with a
picture for the memory! Flyers like above really
help!
4. A small bag - Travel stores have got them and you'll be glad if you
bring one along cause getting those shirts and that program dirty is hard
to fix. It also helps keep any paper products, (flyers, catalogs), in
order in case you need them later.
